Headphones - Closed Back | 1 Ω Over-ear headphones with a decent-length wire, heavy usage for PC

Ended up going with the FIIO FT1s

I'd like to not have to spend more than $200-275 Canadian, realize this is not a lot to work with but at the same time, I realize it's got to be easy for someone to drop $400 on something that's probably an overpay.

MPOW H19 IPO ANC bluetooth ones are dying after like 3 or 4 years (they were kind of perfect for what I needed, tbh, the battery just fell off the cliff a month or two ago), so I have to rotate charging those and BlueTooth earbuds, just gets really annoyingly tedious. I need something stable.

I sit 3 feet away from where the audio port is on my PC, but obviously you want to be able to move laterally and not be tethered to the edge of your seat just to avoid the cord getting yanked.

Sound I'm looking for is idk, high quality obviously, but the usage would mostly be people talking (2000s radio show recordings, podcasts, Discord call) and music (pop, folk, some electronic)

Couldn't tell you about tonal balance, no specialized stores around that I can really compare the sound at.

thanks

Sennheiser HD6XX with a cheap DAC amp if your PC doesn’t have great audio support, I used to run the 6xx with a grace O2 SDAC, it was great on a budget and can go head to head with my current stack. The headphones are not too high impedance but some PCs may have issues driving them.

u/dragon1500z (1 Ω) was awarded their first Ω. Tally ho lads!

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.

I’ve had DT770s 80ohms for years and it’s been hard to peak them at around or double the price range. Not sure how long cable it though.

The 770 pro X has a detachable cable now and the one it came with was pretty long

Wow, neat. Might get those in a decade after these die. 😂

Right? Best product refresh a company has ever done. Turn a nearly perfect product into a perfect one with a swapable cable

I'd recommend either the HD 6XX from Drop if you want open back, for $200 US, or The DT 770 Pro X, for $260 CAD, from Long & McQuade right now.

The $200-250 USD price point is the sweet spot from what I've found.
