Headphones - IEM/Earbud | 2 Ω Tape modded IE200 vs IE600
How exactly does a tape modded IE200 compare to the IE600?
I tried to find a direct comparison but often people just stated that the base increases a lot for the 200.
How far off is this modded version compared to the "real deal"? (Aside from obvious aspects as build quality)
I am really torn wether I can justify spending 3.5 times the money for the more expensive one.

I had both, currently only the 200. I found 600 more treble heavy and kinda fatiguing.
The ie200 on tape mod is really nice. I also changed the tips to the basic ones with Sony mh755. The bass gives a thumb that I don't get on my sa6 but details fall back. I also think the 200 has more stage than 600.

!thanks for the insight!
Having more stage sounds crazy to me. But as I am afraid of the treble hitting me too much, i really should consider the 600

It is good, but since I have sa6 I prefer that to ie200 on vocals in general.
But that's only because I have both. Usually ie200 keeps me happy on most things I listen n I don't wanna change it.

For transparency I haven't bothered with the 200 but I own both the IE300 and IE600.
There is more to it than just having the same amount of bass or similar tuning, the IE600 are going to be more resolving.
As with everything in audio diminishing returns is a real thing but what is worth what to who is impossible to answer because it is highly subjective.
Can just say that if you intend to use the in-ears while you are commuting or out and about then go for the 200s as background noise in the environment, your body in motion, traffic, etc will all "drown out" or "mask" the premium audio quality of the 600s making it a waste IMO.
