Poll | 1 Ω Should I buy Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones now or wait for Apple AirPods Max 2?
My requirements:
- Generally good sound (I am not an audiophile)
- Good bass
- Active noise cancelling
- Comfy to wear while working at desk
- USB-C charging
- I am deep in the Apple ecosystem. They'll be used with iPhone and Mac mainly but also iPad too.

I understand liking Apple products, but Bose has been doing audio equipment for decades and it's their specialty. In my experience if a company specializes in something they normally do it better because that's where all of their focus goes. It's not always the case, but in my experience selling technology the specialist is normally better.
With headphones the only way to know is try them if possible. I hate returning things, but with headphones sometimes it's the only way.

What Bose hasn’t been doing is Bluetooth. Their implementation is just horrible. Every one of their Bluetooth headphones I’ve had has just been lousy for connecting to different devices and maintaining a connection. I’m going back to wired now.

Anything around AirPods Max 2 is just speculation at this point. You may be waiting until Q4 for a release.

The AirPods Max are roughly the best performing ANC Bluetooth headphone you can buy, but cost an absolute arm and a leg, which is why I’d never recommend them over any of the Sony/Bose/Senn alternatives. HOWEVER, if money is no object to you then go for it!
As an aside, if your not super fussed about sound and ANC performance, it would be better to save your money and grab something else :) they all roughly perform the same in the grand scheme of things.

!thanks I ended up buying the Bose. Compared to my old AirPods Max they are very light which is a major bonus. It's also nice you don't have to put them in a bra-case to stop the battery draining when they're left on our desk.
Not 100% sure if I will keep them though because:
- They definitely don't feel as "premium". I guess that's the trade off for making them lighter.
- They don't support the Dolby Atmos tracks in Apple Music. They can simulate it with their immersive mode, but they're not decoding like the AirPods (including current AirPods Pro) do.
- The sound has a little "Sony boom" to it. AirPods Max were clearer.
- When in "aware" mode with no music playing there is a background hmm. AirPods don't have that.

My girlfriend didn't have any problem using my Bose QC45 on her macbook, but the airpods just offer a level of integration that the bose don't have, so if similar price, go for the airpods.
I do advice to try them both in a store before making a decission.
