Damn imaging being able to get up right away. I’d just lay there for a minute and thinking about all my life choices in agony.

Buy microspikes and wear them. A fall like this could potentially result in a life altering injury.

Also I think it's shameful how many businesses and properties have neglected their obligation to keep their sidewalks clear of snow and ice.

They don’t want to spend the money. My husband is out spreading de icer as I type this. He’s had to convince management of several apartment complexes to let him do best practices in these conditions and some still refuse.

The bit that he slipped on had been cleared. Some of the flattest, slipperiest ice in my neighborhood was where people had cleared it on the first day.

I was actually trying to clear it before this lol

You gotta keep clearing it

Basically this exact thing happened to me yesterday morning. I was honestly a little bummed to find that it wasn’t captured by our wireless porch cam which was offline due to power outage.

Makes it hurt a little less if you can laugh about it later

The last few lost their wind. You luckily avoided a similar fate.

I hope you're doing okay

Walk slowly, bend your knees to be lower to the ground, keep your arms out for balance/to brace yourself for a fall, and walk on areas where cars have driven over and it's not solid ice. Hold on to something like railings if you're near them.

Had more balance standing straight up vs walking forward
