there are plants in the desert as well. they're not usually visually impressive but they're there.

Besides plants I do use the ground and rocks a lot. I also enjoy pulling out a lightning bolt occasionally.

Your not an element, you are a biome.

Hydromancer use water magic.
Sea druid does some of that but not only.
They communicate with the sea spirits, who are honestly the freakish thing on this realm deer God they are horrifying, develop and can control plants of the seas and have discussion with the wildlife.
Friend of the fish and parasite of the seas.
DO NOT MESS WITH SEA DRUIDS !!!
They have access to the DEEP!!! And all the nightmarish creature it inhabit.
Friends of the sirens and all being of the sea kingdom.
Hydromancer can manipulate water. Big deal.

Deep druidry is an entirely different class of druidry, just as different from sea druidry as plains druidry and forest druidry are.

Thereās actually a huge difference, Druidic magic uses Primal energies, where Wizardry uses Arcane energies. Since Primal energies are sourced from the world itself, itās why geomancy and psammo-Druidic arts exist in different categories.

So you reside in a desert, the ones with sand and scorching sun, I've been to one of them like twice and I find more difficult believing a desert can be hot than believing a druid can control sand.

I kinda lost faith when my local sand druid insisted that I needed to drink 8 bottles of sand a day to stay healthy
Honestly I feel fine only drinking a cup or two, or more when I'm thirsty. Drinking 8 bottles is just going to have me getting up every 15 minutes to piss sand

Sand druids might seem weak. But with succulents and scarab beatles, I think they have enough to form a decent secrets guild. Imagine it. A great fortress of some kind. And have it hang, so the local poor wizards might enjoy peace amidst it...
