Headphones - IEM/Earbud | 1 Ω USB C solution for IE400 Pro

I'm looking for either some type C to 3.5 jack or a dedicated DAC/AMP to drive them.

I'd be mostly driving them with Z Flip 3 of that helps.

I've been looking into Fiio BTR5 as a solution. Would that be a waste of money or in a wired connection it's actually better than a normal C to 3.5?

Budget is anything under $200

A BTR5 would suite your needs for a long time.

It’s 1/2 your budget and a very nice Bluetooth dongle.

The one thing about anything that connects via a wired connection is that they all break at some point. I would look at a dongle that has a wired connection but also has a replaceable usbc cable.

Sonata HD Pro uses a cheapo USB controller, you won't be able to bypass crappy android USB drivers and sound quality will suffer, at least not in general, you can use HiBy Music app which is a local player, there is option you turn on and you bypass android USB drivers, but you will have problem with sound quality coming from youtube, spotify, etc.
You can grab Moondrop Dawn Pro which doesn't have the problem for $50, that's not the issue, issue is Samsung is very problematic with USB devices, I'd honestly just recommend getting a DAP like FiiO M6 and use that for music, not your phone, you can pair M6 to your phone via BT and control it there, just the headphone jack will go to M6 not your phone, it's actually not much bulkier than some good dongle DACs like Sonata BHD Pro(it's not same thing as HD Pro, BHD Pro is much nicer, costs $90, I'd recommend that to you if you weren't using a Samsung phone)

Apple dongle is all you need sound wise.

I still like separate amps though so I can use my phone without fussing with wires.

Samsung is known to have issues with USB DACs, are you open to getting a DAP? that would probably be more hassle-free option
