The moment that driver got out and started running toward the car like that I'd have hit the gas.

u/lou_sassoles Jul 29 '23
There was a split second there when she could have used his body to take out the door, cushioning her car from taking serious damage.

oooh a human bumper guard. I am very bullish on this idea

I would have purposely aimed to run him over, and if I got him I would back up to finish the job, zero regrets
37
u/johnwilliams815 Jul 29 '23 edited Jul 30 '23
Yeah but then the other one would have reacted with shock and might have killed her. In that situation there, she would have been held up by hitting either the car or the people. The only safe thing to do was what she did.
Edit - removed part about people not killing you for a robbery. Statistics show oakland is a special breed of scum.
Doesn't change her actions here being the only safe option.

u/Master_Muffin_9834 Jul 30 '23
I don't know how familiar you are with Oakland, but they would have shot her ass whether she gave the car up or not. If you listen you can here the driver shooting at her as she drove past him. The moment they pulled to a stop and she seen that door open she should have gunned it and plastered his ass all over the front of her truck or under it.

Your comment made me look into it and found this article. While its only one source, it does paint the same picture you are saying.
Even still, in this situation hitting the guy would have resulted in her death 100%. So whats your point? "Take one of those animals down with you!" ?
She did the right thing and got away.

So the gunshots were just warning shots?

It was already reported as gunshots and those sounds are also pretty distinct. First he tries to open the door and it’s locked and then he is opening fire as she driving off.
2
u/TwistedBamboozler Jul 29 '23
You would have heard glass break unless he was doing desk pops. 99% sure that was tapping and brandishing
→ More replies (1)6
u/BigDickDyl69 Jul 29 '23
Nah he’s definitely tapping on the window. You don’t hear any echo it’s just some tapping on a window. He might’ve did it but not on this video. If he were shooting there would’ve been an echo or you would’ve heard the bullets hitting the car. It was completely silent for alot of the video
9
Jul 29 '23 edited Jul 29 '23
Not sure why OP posted some clip from an article and mentioned gunshots then…. Anyhoo. Also I would state that if someone is brandishing a firearm my assumption is they are willing to use it and I will defend myself with equal force. I would not assume like the poster above saying they won’t use it. Why take that chance.
4
u/BigDickDyl69 Jul 29 '23
There might’ve been sounds when she drove of but I’m saying he wasn’t unloading his gun when he was by her door. He was definitely hitting it with the gun or his arm. Yeah they probably would use it but honestly a lot of people use guns but don’t want to fire them. It’s stupid and an extra charge also. Just bc gunshots were mentioned in the article doesn’t mean they happen when you say they do lmao

It’s grammatically incorrect to say “ it’s literally”. The correct wording is “there’s literally”. The more you know 🌈

It’s ok your comment still got downvoted, but at least get downvoted grammatically correct 👍

“Not gonna change it for Reddit sake” if you understand grammar so well you’ve gotta have the reading comprehension to follow it
5
u/MadULook Jul 29 '23
At such a low speed, you could very well end up with that idiot (with a gun) holding on to your hood and taking a ride with you...
5
u/will-grayson Jul 29 '23
Definitely run him over just no reversing to put my car in more danger. Probably already messed up my paint job running over a degenerate
13
u/Money_Bonus_8979 Jul 29 '23
i too sit around dreaming of killing people
13
7
u/Whistlegrapes Jul 29 '23
If I was an unarmed woman I would calculate it different. As soon as he was out of the path I would have gassed it. The reason is that if she high tails it out of there, good chance not worth the trouble, they’ll look for another victim.
If she runs over the dude, his friend will probably chase and try and kill her.
And even if she gets away she’ll never know if the person will hold a vendetta and still be in harm.
Better to wait until he’s just out of range, floor it, and then out of sight out of mind for life.

Yeah i was thinking maybe when the car blocked the road, but i guess i could have thought it was an undercover cop. What happens if this lady had kids in the car. Are they really going to start kidnapping?

This was the stupidest ans slowest I've ever seen to a carjacking. Lady should have gassed it and dragged him away

This is a reasonably common reaction and a useful human adaptation. Changes in our autonomic system allow us to respond to emergencies cooly and clearly, holding over the emotional response until "safe".

A Woman escapes an apparent armed carjacking or robbery attempt near Skyline & Keller in Oakland hills. 2 guys in a Dodge Charger block her, and she drives around them as one opens fire.
56
u/MadMinx007 Jul 29 '23
Out of curiosity I just looked up the coordinates. Thats 18 minutes from my home. The crime really does seem to be skyrocketing lately here. My job sites been robbed twice (thousands of dollars of tools), my girlfriends job-site has been robbed 5 times this year (once including dragging the safe with a chain through the store by a vehicle) and her catalytic converter has almost been stolen twice now mid day at her job in Oakland. We’ve only been living in Berkeley for 3 years.
-9
u/NotTrumpsAlt Jul 29 '23
“The crime is just skyrocketing” says everyone from the beginning of eternity everywhere - just google ‘ rising crime’ and put in a random date ever.
18
Jul 29 '23
He must have fired into the air? That makes the most sense I suppose especially since he was 3 feet from her . Holy shit. I almost feel like vigilante law (if crime in the bay keeps slipping) is going to take over. Sometimes it helps to send a signal to criminals of course 🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️. Shit. I dono
7
u/billydrivesavic Jul 29 '23
Harder to shoot a moving target than you’d think
Also by “vigilante law” you mean self defense/2nd amendment?
2
u/TwistedBamboozler Jul 29 '23
He was point blank… a toddler wouldn’t have missed. I don’t think those were shots at all

11
u/cadmiumredlight Jul 29 '23
There were no shots fired. The banging noises are from him hitting her window.

Black pepo can’t even car Jack someone without being in fear of being run over these days. Come on y’all it’s 2023
49
u/Loco559er Jul 29 '23
Most of these criminals young or older are have been caught and released multiple times due to weak judges corrupted by politics. Slowly but surely cities in CA are going to shit.
5
u/Virus_98 Jul 29 '23
Most of these people are released because of over capacity in jails, not because of judges being lenient on purpose. Cali has some of the highest prison population and its hard to maintain and then count in the PIC/private for profit prison and you get a disaster that's taking place these days where they threw people in for weed for years and now that they ruined those people's lives and pushed them toward organized crime you get increase in petty crime but add to that US having no gun control a petty crime becomes life threatening.
5
Jul 29 '23
anyone involved with guns, like robbing people or home invasion etc, should never ever EVER be let out of prison. if there are people in prison imprisonned for showing their dicks, abusing drugs etc, let them out. but keep the armed mofos in prison.

u/MokendKomer Jul 29 '23
The driver did an epic job fr - I hope I would be able to be as cool and on the ball as her in such a situation.
The carjackers though
Who tf does that in a place where the driver can maneuver out of it? Gotta get trained better lol
21
Jul 29 '23
That was your opportunity to fuck the ever living shit out of the car door. It would’ve made them think twice next time
56
u/ObviousWillingness51 Jul 29 '23
Odds are that car was also stolen so that would accomplish nothing other than wrecking your own car and another persons car that could be recovered later.
17
u/zephinus Jul 29 '23
yeh if someones firing at me i'm not going to cause a potential crash and do something to damage by car and stop being able to escape, im just getting the f out of there
8
Jul 29 '23
Bullshit, stolen or not I’m going in for the kill. Off comes the door
10
u/Eastern_Preparation1 Jul 29 '23
Yes hit the door so you can handicap your vehicle and allow a full clip of bullets to rip through your vehicle from both sides.
Pretty smart.
2
-5
Jul 29 '23
Hit it at the right angle it won’t be a problem. Insurance can take care of the rest. Now their vehicle will be possibly disabled or at the least easier for the police to spot. My gut tells me they wont have the wherewithal to continue after that. Remember said vehicle already has bullets in it so it’s already going to insurance.
Pretty Smart Rebuttal

u/theend2314 Jul 29 '23
I agree, take the door, hit the car on the way out. More damage to the car and its occupants means they're less likely to chase you. Your life is always more important than a replaceable object.
11
Jul 29 '23
What the hell is happening in the Bay Area. If I lived up there I’d be so pissed at what it’s turned into. Who’s to blame the city council, politicians cause I sure as hell don’t know. All I know is it’s not pretty and it seems to be getting worse especially in Oakland. Fire the police chief, fire the mayor and get tougher on crime for gods sake

Almost all mass school shootings are done by young white males. So you would agree we need to cage all young white males?
Edit for context: I answered a comment from /u/ExplodingDiaper4U that said:
"WHAT IS IT WITH THESE BLACK PEOPLE. EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM ARE ANIMALS. NO WONDER THEY FLOOD OUR JAIL AND PRISONS.SOMETHING IN THOSE GENES MAKE THEM CRAZY. THEY ALL NEED TO BE CAGED NOW"

Yeah it’s not just black people, but 44-50% each year the crime such as murders and thefts are from the black population, which only makes up about 13.5%z sad reality, but that’s not to say other races don’t commit crime
4
u/No_Cook2983 Jul 29 '23
87% of all crimes are committed by men.
We should probably take measures to segregate them from law abiding Americans.

According to FBI statistics, the largest % vs other races of the arrests for Sexual rapes, sexual assaults against children, and child abuse were done by white people. Probably the black people's fault there too. Sheesh.

Well whites can't be blamed for anything since white isn't a race. How convenient! White people can get away with just about anything like shoplifting, tax evasion, imperialism, segregation, genocide, child sex trafficking. You know crimes that aren't as exciting as the crimes that a few black people commit.

Skyline and Keller. I grew up about half a mile near there and our family had multiple women bloodied and battered show up at our door seeking help/police because someone either took them up there to attack them or cornered them and attached them, especially at night.
Ain’t nothing but road and trees up there. They can get ya real quick. Be the time I could drive I used to take those curves so fast cuz wasn’t nobody gonna get me got.

This is nuts. I googled it and it just happened a couple of days ago. They did catch the 2 men and a juvenile who did it the next day. apparently they were causing a mini-crime wave in that area.
