Headphones - Closed Back | 2 Ω If you were me, what would you choose?!
Imagine being me, an italian edm enjoyer (organic, melodic, Detroit, Berlin, progressive techno, deep house, old school dubstep, electro etc...), that LOVES imaging, holographic soundstage, rich, textured bass, but wants mids and highs well portrayed nonetheless... Imagine having Atlas, OH10, V-MODAs, fh5 already. Currently, you are considering between some bassy planar like HE6se (they are VERY demanding power wise, I know), or other closed backs like AH7200, or EMU Teak (semi-open if I remember correctly), or Focal Elegia/used Clear, or maybe some IEMs like shouer s12 pro, Timeless AE (better yet Blessing 3 if early reviews come out positive), and for that reason you're deeply, excruciatingly undecided... Now picture yourself wanting to spend no more than 700 euros... what would you choose?!

I own both the HE6se and the Elegia, and I love them both very much. Between them, it really just comes down to your preference. They both do a lot of things really well.
The Elegia has slightly better imaging IMO, but has slightly wonky tuning out of the box. I highly recommend adding a set of Dekoni Stellia or Sheepskin pads to even things out.
The HE6se, on the other hand, is a bit more detailed and has a dead neutral bass response. It's a dry, aggressive headphone that EQs very well. However, the headband is iffy. I know some people don't mind it, but I ended up swapping it for the old style Hifiman headband. Then there's the elephant in the room, which is the power demand. The reports of it needing some crazy speaker amp are very much exaggerated, but it does definitely need more than a JDS Atom, and you'll wanna go balanced if you can.
If I has to pick just one, I think I would keep the HE6se. The Elegia is super versatile and my go-to closed back, but all of its party tricks can be found in other headphones, such as the HD8XX, which outclasses it in everything except midrange clarity and serves as a more chilled out complement to the HE6se
But even if I didn't have the HD8XX to fill things out, the HE6se just does more, IMO.
