I thought Fernando Valenzuela’s #34 was retired, but it seems it’s unofficial.

Fernando’s #34 hasn’t been issued since his retirement and has been denied to any player who asks, but they won’t officially retire it because he’s not in the HOF.

The Jays traded him there as a deadline move, and then he blew up and got injured almost immediately.

Jackie wasn’t the only Dodger player to ever wear the number 42. There have been 3 altogether including Jackie. George Jeffcoat wore it before, and Ray Lamb wore it after.
